Your parish family here at St. Bernard's rejoices in the day that your little one recieves the Eucharist for the first time. This is indeed not just a special occasion for your child but for our entire community.
The Eucharist is, as the Second Vatican Council reminds us, the source and summit of our Christian lives because in it we receive the fullness of Jesus Christ in his body and blood, soul and divinity. Therefore we have a special obligation to ensure that every person wishing to receive the Eucharist is properly formed in the faith of the Church.
We have included the requirements for children who wish to receive First Holy Communion in our parish below (If you are an adult please see the R.C.I.A. page here):-
Your child must have been baptized in the Catholic Church

We invite you and your family to attend Mass regularly each week
-
If your child is not enrolled in a Catholic School, your child must participate in the Faith Formation Program in the parish
-
You and your child must attend the First Holy Communion Preparation Program
-
Your child should know how to:

Make the sign of the cross
-
Recite the Lord's Prayer
-
Recite the Hail Mary Prayer
-
Recite the Glory Be Prayer
-
Recite the Act of Contrition
-
Your family must be registered parishioners in St. Bernard's. If you are not registered and would like to register please contact the parish office at 508-755-3820 or click here to register online to become a member.

InformaciónTu familia parroquial aquí en St. Bernard se regocija en el día en que tu pequeño recibe la Eucaristía por primera vez. Este no es solo un momento especial para tu hijo, sino para toda nuestra comunidad.
La Eucaristía es, como nos recuerda el Concilio Vaticano II, la fuente y cima de nuestras vidas cristianas porque en ella recibimos la plenitud de Jesucristo en su cuerpo y sangre, alma y divinidad. Por lo tanto, tenemos la obligación especial de asegurarnos de que cada persona que desee recibir la Eucaristía esté adecuadamente formada en la fe de la Iglesia.
Hemos incluido los requisitos para los niños que desean recibir la Primera Comunión en nuestra parroquia a continuación (si eres un adulto, consulta la página de R.C.I.A. aquí):

Tu hijo debe haber sido bautizado en la Iglesia Católica.

Te invitamos a ti y a tu familia a asistir a Misa regularmente cada semana.

Si tu hijo no está inscrito en una Escuela Católica, debe participar en el Programa de Formación en la Fe de la parroquia.

Tú y tu hijo deben asistir al Programa de Preparación para la Primera Comunión.

Tu hijo debe saber cómo:

Hacer la señal de la cruz.

Recitar el Padrenuestro.

Recitar la Oración del Ave María.
-
Recitar la Oración del Gloria.

Recitar el Acto de Contrición.
