In the midst of the sirens wailing and first responders' lights flashing as they race up and down Lincoln Street. In the midst of the darkness that seems to infiltrate these neighborhood streets, we at St. Bernard's Church, with your help, are looking to bring a bit of light to the lives of many this holiday season. We gather individuals together so that we might remember what unites and bonds us as a people. We have an opportunity to share in the common good, restoring a love that is at times lost.

During the Advent Season, we pick a Sunday evening in which we invite the community to gather in front of the Church for holiday festivities. We sing Christmas carols and learn of the light of Christ. Through donations, we are able to provide coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies. Collaborating with Worcester Police, Worcester EMS, and the Worcester Fire Department, we ensure that Santa arrives safely for his visit with the neighborhood children. Before he arrives, though, we turn the switch to "Light up Lincoln St."

We invite you to participate with us on December 8th, 2004 at 5:30 pm following our Sunday night 5 pm mass.

En medio de las sirenas resonando y las luces de los primeros respondedores parpadeando mientras corren arriba y abajo de Lincoln Street. En medio de la oscuridad que parece infiltrarse en estas calles del vecindario, nosotros en la Iglesia de St. Bernard, con su ayuda, buscamos llevar un poco de luz a las vidas de muchos en esta temporada navideña. Cantamos villancicos y aprendemos sobre la luz de Cristo. A través de donaciones, podemos ofrecer café, chocolate caliente y galletas. Colaborando con la Policía de Worcester, el Servicio de Emergencias Médicas de Worcester y el Departamento de Bomberos de Worcester, nos aseguramos de que Santa llegue de manera segura para su visita con los niños del vecindario. Antes de que llegue, sin embargo, encendemos el interruptor para "Iluminar Lincoln St."
